With Fall approaching, I am getting excited about an event I am attending in mid-November!
My good friend, Jennifer Hayslip of Eye Candy Creations is hosting this beautiful Christmas themed art event in Charleston, SC. Charleston is one of my favorite southern cities and everyone knows I love Christmas and making Christmas art pieces!
This November, you can attend Once Upon a Christmas too and shop the vendor tables and make pretty art pieces with the fabulous instructors Jennifer has chosen!
Several different artists and I will be bringing our goodies to sell at the fabulous Vendor Night!!
I will have my trees, angels, glitter houses, ornaments and all kinds of other goodies and supplies on display to sell there!
I have been busily crafting pretty pieces all summer and crunch time is upon me now!
Here are some of the special pieces I have already made!
I will have several vintage inspired angels to choose from...
This beautiful lady is covered with vintage gift wrap with MORE angels in pretty pink and aqua!
I got interested in making angels with satin thread ornaments and other items I found at estate sales this spring.
The angel below is made from satin ornament and an old sugar coated Christmas tree bulb. He has a vintage spun cotton head and he holds a garland of mercury glass beads.
This cutie glittery Santa is sitting atop a satin thread ornament and holding a chenille candy cane!
Here are several more that I made when that idea presented itself! I think they are just so retro!
I also made these tiny spun cotton angels that can be used in artwork, corsages, as ornaments and as package decorations.
They have always been one of my favorite vintage craft supplies but SO hard to find!
I am really proud of them because I taught myself the technique to make them in the same way as the originals that were "Made in Japan" in the fifties and sixties. My art is all about revisiting lost vintage crafts!
I will also be bringing several of the shadowbox ornaments that I normally make each holiday season!
Below is one that I made especially for the event.
Here is a little detail of the colors and items inside the scene!
The background of this ornament is a church in the woods from a piece of vintage gift wrap. The beautiful angel inside is a vintage piece too. Everything is glittered and trimmed in tinsel and vintage mercury glass beads.
It sure wouldn't be Christmas without my tulle trees like this turquoise beauty I made this spring!!
My friend, Jennifer Hayslip hosts the most beautiful events!
She is known for her beautiful assemblage artwork and photography!
Her gorgeous home has been featured in several magazines over the years and she is especially known for her sweet and nostalgic Christmas decorations!
