And so, it all started with this celebrity kitchen shot.
The pretty pink and lavender kitchen pictured belongs to burlesque star Dita Von Teese. I have always admired her flair for vintage.
The below is my kitchen. I picked out a shade called "Easter Egg" at Ace Hardware this weekend and just went for it.
Below are some of the handpainted plates I have collected with their cute flower shaped frames. I love the grouping and the pretty pastels on my lavender wall.
Some of the kitsch on my kitchen shelf.
I still have mint green doors and beadboard backsplash. There are so many colors going on that it looks like a happy vintage Easter basket!
The windows have pink dotted swiss curtains with vintage hanky apron valances.
Now for the la-la part...
How many of you have seen brooms balanced all over the internet?
I just couldn't help myself....
The word at Snopes is that these things will balance even if it wasn't getting close to the Vernal Equinox on March 21st.
Here's some more counter top kitsch to go with my campy egg and broom act.
My son says I have way too much time on my hands and must be really bored!
My fabulous, good news is that my son has a job at long last! He started last Monday and has worked nonstop with no day off scheduled until Wednesday.
I am so proud of him. He has been going in at 5am to stock freezer and dairy shelves at Kroger. It's within walking distance and he gets himself there and back every day.
He still plans to be in school this summer to get a diploma in sleep disorders. Eventually he will work as a tech in a sleep lab.
I do have more time on my hands! I have even applied for a part time job at a store I really like.
I've started a little Easter decorating and crafting.
How are your plans and projects shaping up for late winter and early Spring?
Warm wishes,
xoxo,
Jennifer
